Underground Cinema
Successfully launched earlier this year over the Saint Patrick’s bank holiday weekend, Underground Cinema toured around the country before returning to Dun Laoghaire for its Autumn programme. Specialising in cult and classic films from the 1950s up to the present day, each screening can cater for between 100 and 150 cars, with upcoming shows featuring a blend of blockbuster science fiction and sun-drenched musicals. Staff will be on-hand to guide visitors to their parking spot, where they will be able to settle in and tune their car stereo to the frequency advertised on-screen in order to hear the movie. Entry is for the Car Plus option, which allows up to four people to come to a screening in one vehicle, with children under the age of four able to come along for free and not be counted towards the number of people in the car.
